Bordeaux

Bordeaux is the region that defined the very concept of age-worthy and collectible wine, with a hierarchy of châteaux and a classification that have guided the international market for over a century and a half.

On the Left Bank, Cabernet Sauvignon creates wines with tannic structure and exceptional longevity; on the Right Bank, in Pomerol and Saint-Émilion, Merlot produces fuller-bodied profiles that open earlier. Aging in barriques and blending different grape varieties remain the two defining tools of the style.
