Jacques Selosse

The house is based in Avize, in the heart of the Côte des Blancs. Anselme Selosse succeeded his father in the 1970s, bringing to Champagne an approach learned in Burgundy: treating Champagne as a wine and wine as the expression of a precise parcel. Today, the estate is run by Guillaume Selosse.

Low yields, minimal intervention, fermentation with indigenous yeasts in oak barrels, and almost no dosage produce full-bodied Champagne wines with immediate recognizability. Production revolves around the Initial and Version Originale blending cuvées, the Millésime wines, and the six single-parcel Lieux-Dits, each made in only a few thousand bottles.

Annual production remains around sixty thousand bottles from approximately seven hectares, with closed allocations: availability is limited and intermittent. Controlled storage and traceable provenance.
