Athenais

Athénaïs is the label under which Athénaïs de Béru produces wines made from purchased grapes, vinified at Château de Béru, a few kilometres from Chablis. The château has belonged to the family for more than four centuries; she took over its management with the 2005 harvest, converting the domaine's approximately fifteen hectares first to organic and then to biodynamic farming.

The same approach as for the estate's Chablis: indigenous yeasts, vinification without additives and, since 2014, some cuvées bottled without added sulfur. The grapes come mainly from Yonne, from organic or biodynamic growers; the Aligoté comes from the hills of Saint-Bris.

STELT's selection includes two 2018 bottles: the Bourgogne Aligoté and the Bourgogne Épineuil Rouge, Pinot Noir from the Épineuil appellation, opposite Tonnerre. Provenance verified.
