Egly-Ouriet

The house is based in Ambonnay, a grand cru village in the Montagne de Reims, and is run by Francis Egly, the fourth generation of the family. Production is predominantly based on Pinot Noir, the dominant grape variety in the village.

Work in the vineyard involves low yields, late harvest, and old vines. In the cellar, fermentation in barrels, low dosage, and extensive aging on lees are preferred, even for non-vintage cuvées, well exceeding the minimum requirements.

The range includes Brut Grand Cru, Les Prémices, Rosé, and the single-vineyard cuvées Les Vignes de Vrigny (from Meunier) and Les Vignes de Bisseuil. Storage at controlled temperature and humidity, traceable origin.
