Jean-Pierre Robinot

Jean-Pierre Robinot came to winemaking from Paris, where he opened L'Ange Vin, one of the capital's first bars dedicated to natural wines, and helped found the magazine Le Rouge et le Blanc. In the early 2000s, he returned to Chahaignes, his home village in the Loir Valley, between Jasnières and Coteaux du Loir, where he tends a few hectares of Chenin Blanc and Pineau d'Aunis.

Organically farmed vines, spontaneous fermentation in tuffeau caves, long ageing in old barrels, with no added sulphur. Two ranges: Les Vignes de l'Ange Vin, from estate-owned parcels, and L'Opéra des Vins, made from grapes purchased from growers who work in the same way.

The selection includes Opéra Blanc 2021 and Cuvée Camille Robinot 2018, Pineau d'Aunis from old vines and aged for over two years in barrel. Provenance verified.
