Joel Michel

Champagne Joël Michel is a récoltant-manipulant from Brasles, near Château-Thierry, in the western part of the Vallée de la Marne. The family has grown vines in Champagne since the mid-nineteenth century; Joël Michel began planting its own vineyards in Brasles in 1970. Today the company is run by Claire Michel, with around twelve hectares on the right bank of the Marne.

The vineyard has been farmed organically since 2017, and the cellar follows a minimal-intervention approach: no selected yeasts, enzymes, chaptalization, fining, or filtration. The Classique Brut blends Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Meunier in nearly equal proportions, with some of the wine fermented in barriques.
