Le Chiuse

The estate is located in Montalcino, in the Valdicava area on the northern slope of the hill, and is run by Simonetta Valiani, a descendant of the Biondi Santi family, together with her son Lorenzo Magnelli, the winemaker since 2006. The vineyards are the same ones the Biondi Santi family used for their Riserva; since 1992, the grapes have been made into wine under their own label.

The vineyard comprises seven hectares of Sangiovese grosso, plus two hectares southeast of the town. The approach is traditional: indigenous yeasts, gravity-flow winemaking, aging in large Slavonian oak casks, and certified organic farming.

The range revolves around Brunello, Riserva, and Rosso di Montalcino. The STELT selection includes Brunello di Montalcino 2021 and Rosso di Montalcino 2023, in 0.75 format. Provenance verified.
