Stephane Bernadeau
Stéphane Bernaudeau works in Martigné-Briand, in Anjou, and has built his own domaine since 2000, after more than ten years working alongside Mark Angeli at Ferme de la Sansonnière. The estate covers around three hectares, mostly old Chenin vines farmed biodynamically.
Production consists exclusively of dry white wines, vinified by parcel and bottled as Vin de France. Spontaneous fermentation in used barrels, without clarification or filtration; the bottles are difficult to find.
The STELT selection includes the three single-parcel cuvées: Les Nourrissons 2018, from vines planted in 1910 on schist; Les Onglés 2018 and 2021, from younger vines on a south-west-facing slope; Les Coqueries 2023, from the parcel on the hills of Bonnezeaux, with the first vintage in 2019. Provenance verified.
