Domaine Sylvain Cathiard Nuits-Saint-Georges Premier Cru Aux Murgers 2019 AOC 0,75l

Domaine Sylvain Cathiard Nuits-Saint-Georges Premier Cru Aux Murgers 2019 AOC 0,75l is a wine born from the meeting of a distinctive terroir in the Côte de Nuits and a vineyard management approach guided by close observation of the seasons and ripening, delivering an essential reading of the Aux Murgers cru in the glass; the Cathiard house, with deep roots in Burgundy, has built its identity on the balance between tradition and scientific vineyard care, favoring low yields, hand harvesting, and a cellar that places pure expression and maturation respectful of each cru at the center, in a narrative where human intervention is discreet yet decisive. This production philosophy translates into continuous care of the soil, practices aimed at preserving the vitality of the vine and limiting technical intervention, relying on controlled fermentation that enhances freshness without sacrificing depth and composure; Aux Murgers thus emerges as a link between elegance and substance: its ripe red fruit intertwines with floral notes, subtle spice, and a minerality that both soothes and guides the sip. On the nose, an initial note of cherry and raspberries gives way to hints of violet, white pepper, and wet earth; on the palate, it arrives with refined tannic texture and a structure that seems sculpted, with a length that unfolds into a clean, persistent finish, capable of accompanying complex dishes without overpowering them. This is a wine that conveys its connection to the land without ostentation: its strength lies in the balance between aromatic intensity and restraint, between vibrant savoriness and silky texture, ready to evolve in the bottle yet already able to engage delicately and characterfully at the table. Within the producer's range, it represents a benchmark for interpreting the Aux Murgers cru, capable of accompanying moments of gastronomic contemplation and offering a window into the character of the house, where terroir, patience, and craftsmanship come together in a sensory story.
