Giacomo Conterno Barolo Vigna Francia 2018 DOCG 0,75l

In the glass, Giacomo Conterno Barolo Vigna Francia 2018 DOCG 0,75l reveals a story of terroir, patience, and artisanal methods that have made this estate one of the pillars of Barolo in the Piedmontese Langhe. The label comes from Vigna Francia, a vineyard that produces Nebbiolo with the ability to combine structural precision and aromatic softness: a way of interpreting Barolo that favors controlled density, finesse, and length without forcing the character of the grape variety. The story of Giacomo Conterno is one of consistency and dedication: from the first day of its activity, the estate has placed the quality of the raw material, rigorous grape selection, and cellar management aimed at preserving the soul of the fruit through long aging at the center of its project. The estate’s identity draws strength from a production philosophy that recognizes the vineyard’s decisive role, investing in old vines, calcareous soils, and disciplined agronomic management, then translating that heritage into wines capable of evolving over time. Distinctive elements such as the use of large-capacity Slavonian oak casks for aging give Barolo Vigna Francia an elegant tannic profile, a silky texture on the palate, and a powerful mineral memory that reveals itself only after years of maturation. Compared with other producers, this bottle expresses a stylistic consistency unafraid of complexity: aromas of dark cherry, rose petals, bitter citrus peel, and a hint of black pepper and cocoa intertwine within a frame of understated elegance, accompanied by delicate balsamic notes and a pronounced acidic resonance that supports the structure. In the Giacomo Conterno range, Barolo Vigna Francia holds a prominent position, embodying a choice of precision and longevity that invites a slow and deeply contemplative reading over time.
